I just learned that in 1987 that Bruce Cockburn, Candian folk/jazz/rock/prophet(?) had Linda Manzer create two Strat copies with Alembic Electronics. From http://www.brucecockburn.net they said, " In 1987, Bruce acquires a pair of Linda Manzer Stratocaster copies. These were blue (almost sparkle), painted with a Canadian automotive paint. They had black pickguards, knobs and pickup covers, with DiMarzio pickups (a DiMarzio HS35 in the Bridge position and DiMarzio HS15s in the neck and middle positions) and Alembic Pre-amps installed by Mark Herbert of Boston. "
For those that don't know Manzer, she is better known for her acoustic guitars, she does incredible work. http://www.manzer.com

For those that don't know Bruce, well, he is a musician's musician and blows away even the best. Also, he wrote Waiting for a Miracle that Jerry so often performed with JGB. His guitar work is simply incredible and is well know for having the ability to have each finger working on completely different things at the same time. I have heard it as "the most completely independent fingers that ever hit the strings." by Colin Linden (lesser known mando and guitar player).

Well...here' a photo with an Alembicized Manzer Strat: Notice this the 12 string.
