Agree with Peter on that piece of walnut. My my! And- the back view- is it just me, or does it look like the back of a woman, wearing a dress with a very low V-cut back? |

I think Susan was sort of taken aback when I first sent her photos of somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-12 pieces of walnut that I had seen online and was trying to get close to. Of course, she then came up with something that totally blew all of them away. And Toby...I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw what you did. Now if I could only get my significant other in to (and of course eventually out of) a dress like that. |

Most excellent! I really like the matching headstock veneer. And - good call on the continuous back plates. If that bad boy don't inspire you, nothing will. |

When we got the photos, Brian, you had particularly liked one at Ikebe in Japan. I'm not sure if we ever communicated this to you or not, but your bass is made from the same slab as the reference of your favorite one. |

Mica: Now that's what I call service. I'm surfing the web and see an Alembic bass hanging on the wall of a shop in Japan that has this gorgeous top of superb crotch walnut. Just for the heck of it I include it in a bunch of photos of walnut that I like and send it to Mica and Susan and my bass ends up from the same slab. You guys work magic! P.S. I'm so glad you and Susan convinced me to go with the continuous backplates. |

Yes, with that awesome slice of wood the continuous backplates really seem like the way to go. |
