Shamrock found his way home yesterday, after a year and a half. I took the pics with my iPhone, so they're kinda lame. This is the first bass I've owned with an ebony fingerboard. WOW! Ya know, my bass just made me thirsty.

Oh yeah! Beauty. Now that you made me thirsty also, it has hit me. The top on your bass looks like the head on a Guinness. :-D |

How good was that smell when you opened the case? Waaaaaay better than 'new car' smell!! Beautiful bass. Loved watching the FTC thread on this one. |

Congratulations, stout71! I watched your bass progress through construction, but I've got to say, it looks even better now that it's in your house!! |

Dan - I just checked out your profile. I live right down the street so it would seem (Lawrenceville). We should get together sometime. |

I love the neck inlays and everything you have done to make this bass one of a kind. Good things do come to those patient enough to wait. However, while I agree with Toby that the smell that rises to one's nostrils when opening up the case of a new Alembic might be better than a new car smell, I can't believe that it beats that of a freshly poured pint of Guinness. |

I got a surprise gift yesterday - a cutting board made from the proof of concept wood for the clover cut-out. Pretty cool.

Love that Shamrock cut. Just think if they were able to make that cut in one piece, that would be quite the prize. The Birds Eye Maple is gorgeous as well. We need some McSorley's dark and light to toast the newbie. Play it well and often. If you look at the top half of the Guinness glass, it looks like chocolate quilted maple |
