It looks like a 'classic taper' neck, but with AXY 5/6's instead of 4/5's, and the neck pickup is further south like an SC or MK, and there's breathing room between the bridge and bridge pickup. Of course, all of us cool guys play Spoiler Fives, there's a Zen-like economy of playing an Alembic with only two knobs ! I plan to use this next to my fretless which has almost the same pickup placement, should work out great I think. :-) Not sure why they used the AXY56, obviously the AXY4 is wide enough and I think they look better on this model (with this taper) But....
