Hello, Alembicians, I always wanted to post pics of my babies, but did not manage to do yet... But now, voilá ! This is my second Alembic, the one I am playing in my band. I purchased it though ebay, I saw it between Xmas and New Year 2004/05, I didn't get it, and it was up for sale again six weeks later. The truss rod cover is remarkable, I don't think it's original. Perhaps a relict from a previous owner. It is brass, and has "Kaesma Jr." engraved. Does the Belgian/Dutch Alembic gang know something about that ? Anyway, plays incredible, sounds unbelievable, looks... you know. All the best to all of you, Speicky |

That's very nice. I've always loved the "pinstripes" from the headstock laminates. I hear a lot about Spoilers. How is the sound different from Epics? (I know, I know, it's hard to describe sound). Rich |

Thank you very much, Rich, I'm afraid I cannot help you on the sound issue, I have to buy an Epic first. On the original post you see that I am not a professional photographer, I admit that I am no professional musician either. Beancounter in fact... I read a few times that the set-neck construction of an Epic creates a tone with less sustain but more attack. But I hope I can tell you more when I have the Epic, I will post pics very much more timely :-) Oh, folks, anybody out there can tell me what is going on with me ??? There is this little devil in my ear keep telling me "leave your wife, sell the kid, kill the dog... BUY THE BASS !" It just drives me nuts ! OK, pics of the Epic next week to come ! All the best, Speicky |

Aah, just to put it right: no wife will actually be left, my son is not for sale, and no animals will be harmed in any way, it's just my kind of humour... stay tuned, Speicky |

Hello, Gary, thank you very much. Well, the additional "c" in my last name is a rather funny story... Once upon a time in the 19th century, with the registration of a newly born German boy, the c simply was added by accident. But because no German official is doing anything by accident but by purpose, especially in the 19th century, it stayed there. I think it's okay, the c is not alone. It looks good with the e to the left and the k to the right :-) As my second name is trouble (without an additional c), I have to tell you about my efforts on buying an Epic to satisfy the query of Rich :-). I just cannot right now, and I will open a new or amend an old thread on "swap, seen on ebay"... Just to let you know, Rich: Someone else has got to answer, my plans have vanished at the moment, sorry. But things could be much worse. keep on bumpin, Speicky |
