My first Alembic with zebrawood on top. Can't stop enjoying it since 30.12.2015 :-)

Don't click on the pictures to get a better/bigger look at the pics.
It opens up a mess of popups.
Caution!

Adding proper attachments so you don't need to open those crappy Photobucket app.
Apologies to slawie and anyone else that had those links opened.

Very nice, congratulations! You may consider installing a three position Q-switch, it's inexpensive and easy to install. I put one in my Orion that has the same vol, pan, filter that you have and I like the tonal versatility that it adds to that package.

Enjoy!

If I'm having a holiday or any other trip to US some time soon this might be the first thing I'd do. Currently very happy with the tone it has, this is the first Alembic I've had and it will take some time before I will want anything else ;)The only issue that remains is my bass skills, can't really open the filter any more than half since any addition of the high or mid high freqs shows my articulation issues.

All in all I can't remember a bass that would have so much low frequencies without any muddiness in the overall sound, it's so punchy and edgy and on the other hand soft. Just love the tone of those basses and already thinking of an Epic to add something more.

There's a DIY kit available from the webshop for adding a Q-switch. What you're hearing now is an 8 dB boost at the break-off frequency. The Q-switch allows you to disengage that boost, so you can play with without the big accent on the attack part of each note, and you'll probably have the filter fully open more often.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the full 8 dB boost, so my Spoiler has a 3-position Q-switch with 0/3/6 dB settings. I think there's also a 0/6/9 dB version.

Hav fun!

No need to apologise Igor.
Your bass is beautiful. The zebra wood is well suited
for the Essence body shape.
Owning an Alembic does make you a better player definately improves technique

That's what I wanted to say, the option to instal the Q-switch is tempting, but learning how to use the 8db boost can definitely improve your intonation skills.
And yes I saw the series I with Zebra and it did not look that well fit as with Essence :-)
