I believe most you have seen this bass here and abroad, but this my official post. I've been watching the Alembics on ebay for a while and even got out bidded on a couple, but this baby is now home and I am a proud new papa!! woohoo |

Here are a couple of more photos. I've used the ones I got off the 'net, my Digital camera is broke. Hey, I'm not a junior anymore, looks like now I'm a MEMBER! Cool! I know I'm ranting but this really is a beautiful bass. You should see it in person. (Message edited by davehouck on March 09, 2006) |

It's a lovely bass, but I don't think it's a Mark King. The Mark King and Stanley Clarke basses have 4 knobs and 2 toggles (unless the specs have changed at some point that I don't know of) and your bass appears to have Europa/Rogue electronics. It's stunning! The figuring is phenomenal, and the purpleheart and the omega look awesome. Confirm your electronics! It sure looks like the Europa/Rogue package: Volume/Balance/Filter knobs, 2 position Q switch, and bass and treble "quick tone change" "boost/cut" switches. Congratulations on a stunning bass. |

Fantastic looking bass Olie - congratulations. You'll have other bass players drooling every time you take her out. I Have to agree with Mark that the electronics package is Europa although the humcanceller is in addition to Europa electronics. Graeme |

Thanks, guys. The serial # starts 98MK and I checked with Alembic and they confirm it is a MK, that was custom ordered with the Europa electronics, the hum canceling PU and the extended upper horn. (Message edited by olieoliver on March 09, 2006) |

This bass is a Mark King Deluxe with lots of custom ordered features, among which is the Europa electronics package. |

Thanks, Dave. I did a little research here and I believe the exta lam. of purple heart is in the neck is not standard either. Doesn't the MK normally come with only 2? |

Olie; the standard neck for a Mark King Deluxe Five String is four Maple and three Purpleheart laminates. On the Four String, it's three and two. |
