That is an awesome looking bass Danny! There are three questions I have to ask though.

1. Does the upper body get in the way at all?

2. Is that the pickup selector switch all the way to the left and down?

3. It matches your furniture very well. Was that planned? :-) J/K

Paul, thanks...
The upper body actually gives your forearm a place to rest, but it takes a bit of getting used to - I had to spend some time adjusting the strap and experimenting to get it to feel right. I usually like my basses to sit kind of high on my body, but this one needed to be set to hang a bit lower due to the shape. In general, the Explorer shape balances well (no real neck-dive issues)and the bass is pretty comfortable to play. The fact that it is a medium-scale neck helps, too. Playing while sitting down is a bit more challenging...
The pickup selector on the lower horn is actually (going clockwise) standby/bridge pu/both/neck pu; my eyes aren't really good enough to tell how it's set for sure in the picture, though - but you may be right!
I've had the couch for almost 5 years, and just got the bass about 2 months ago - I guess I'm going to have to do my den in KOA when I redecorate...
Thanks, Danny

That one looks alot like the one John Entwistle played in the Movie "The Kids Are Alright". Probably in the late 70's ? (Before the Spyder Basses)
