I've been told that this kind of spoiler is not common...the pointbody I mean ;-) I only found one similar bass on this site I'm very pleased with it... It's a very fast bass, almost as fast as my Jaydee Series III, the neck of this alembic is a little wider so it requires a little bit more work. I hope you like it. And also in The Netherlands.... I've always liked the standard pointed body shape (OBS) and the Spoiler electronics (With al it's limitations) is a very nice and most of all easy way to play with! How is the balance on it? I hear other cats speak of "neck dive" when they let go of the neck on some long scale Alembics. I have a MK 5 string with a 35" scale neck and I can let go of the bass and it stays put. Of course I have an extended upper horn on it too. Untill now, I never noticed it...I will get beck to you guys later. I will try it out tonight. To be hounest, I don't think the bass "dives" becourse...otherwise I would have noticed it before! The sound is superb...only the neck, it's a little wide for my taste. I'm used to a Jaydee neck... they are the most slim and fastes necks I've ever played on! How're you doin' ? Hope you're fine. Thanks for your post. I got the bass today this morning. Great condition for a more than 20 year old bass. I got it from a nice guy from Paris who already owns two other fantastic Alembics (Essence & 5 str. Elan - simply beautiful !) and a couple of double basses. A real gentleman (as most Alembic owners ?); thank you J ;-) I've played the bass on a small Ampeg amp this morning and the bass sounds really good, even though it's fitted with heavy gauge strange. I can't wait to play it with a 35s gauge string set ! Being still in Paris tonight and can't send pictures (but one http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff211/edmouk/AlembicSpoiler.jpg) at the moment but I promise I'll post a few this week. That's really a nice buy, I would have loved to buy a Spoiler with the original body shape when I was looking for it. I would have paid more just for the shape. Enjoy !!!
