Hi Alembic Friends, Here's a message from The Netherlands (you know: Europe). I've bought a Walnut Europe 5 string and I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately it is second hand, but in very good condition. It sounds great (very much low and high) and I really have to play better / 'more neat' (how do you say that ?!) because the Europe really lets you hear everything little thing I do (also not mentioned actions :-). Some more pictures on www-k-beng.nl. See ya ! Diederick (Message edited by diederick on August 09, 2006) |

You have a fantastic instrument. I too am "Unfortunate" to have a second hand Europa 5. It's an absolute monster of a bass. Fantastic in every way. I have yet to play it at a gig. Hopefully I will have my component set-up sorted by then. All the best with the Europa. Jazzyvee |

Hi Guys ! Ok ok, I don't feel "unfortunately" !!! Far from that of course !! (but sometimes I see guys within this club who own a complete set of Alembics !! Arrggghh). FC/Paul, you seem to need more that one good base also :-) Diederick PS The serialnumber on my bass is 96U10353, does this mean the bass is built in 1996 ?! Hello Diederick, To be precise, that serial # means your bass was completed in 1996. I see you put in a request for info on the Serial Number thread. If it's "birthday" was early in the year, then construction might have started in '95. Mike |
