Quick answer check out FAQs all intruments,finish care. Bottom line, very costly 1150 to start for total refinish, partial "touch-up" may fix problem at 550 to start, but will not look as nice. In reply to Dave - Yes, the wings on the body are two beautiful pieces of solid Koa. They seem to change colour depending on whether the bass is in natural daylight or under artificial light. I've never had a instrument in my hands that felt better. The series beats 'em on sound, but The feel I've experienced on my ex '83 and my current '83 has never been matched...
