Hi-hi-hi-hi-hi-hi...Echo,

welcome to the club.
Nice purchase. Modest but great looking and pure.
Visit: http://www.alembic.com/info/FBC_1.html
You'll see th ebuilding of this kind of instrument, apart from the fact that it's a Series instrument.

Thanks Paul, nice to be here. !!!!
I have seen the link you referred me to, I was thinking that maybe in the future I would see about getting some pickup covers, perhaps? (or maybe even a pickguard, if tasteful) have you ever seen this before?, I mean Im pretty sure it can be done but do you know of any instruments specifically?

Hi Tom,

Go here:

http://alembic.com/club/messages/631/1810.html

for an example of a bass with a pickguard and here:

http://alembic.com/info/fc_frank.html

or here:

http://alembic.com/info/fc_rami.html

for examples of two different types of custom wood pickup covers.

WOW!!! very nice examples, thanks Matt.
I am not sure if the pickguard is really for me (but what a beautiful bass) but I am curious about finding out some info on wood pickup covers, Maybe an email to the powers that be (the nice people at Alembic, that is) is in order .

Wow, a nice Bass from a nice place. I've bought 2 Alembics from Superbass Steve, he is a great person to deal with. Looks like you got a real beauty there Tom.

Wow ... this is an old thread!

Yes .... Steve is a great guy and has been a great friend as well!
I no longer have this bass I foolishly traded it away a long time ago, and actually had the fortune of getting a second from him but due to my engagement and wedding plans and whatnot I needed to sell the second as well.
Third times a charm I hear :-)
