Stanley Clarke Standard Serial number 95SJ9482, here with my son Gabriel, he loves this bass. This bass was delivered to me in 11/25/95, and I keep it as a brand new bass, I used this bass on stage only once and few times around the house.

I am glad you like my collection. I have another one a Traben Bass used by my son, but he plays all my basses, the kid has future, loves music. These basses are my babes. My favorite of course is my Alembic, besides been built in 1995, this bass I only used once on stage, I keep it brand new. And I plan in the near future buy another one, maybe a Series I. I don't play much no more, but the pleasure of collecting basses is superior to anything else and this passion I am passing to my son, at least the day I die somebody will care the torch for me.
Thanks

Very cool Joe. That's great that you have something like this to share with your son.

Nice collections Joe & Mehdi! Thanks for sharing.

Joe: I'm jealous. I've been trying to get my soon to be 12 year old more interested in playing guitar, but he won't pick it up unless I sit there with him. He's much more interested in playing X Box. I keep telling him if he plays, someday he's going to inherit one heckuva collection. If he doesn't play, mom will get to sell it. So far no luck. Enjoy playing with your son.

By the way: "Fender Musicmaster (found in a trash can)"????? You must live in some neighborhood! LOL

Bill, the guitar one

Bill, my only child is a vocalist but at least she married a bass player. Well, he was a guitar player at the time but soon converted.

Have patience, Bill. When my youngest was 10, he said he wanted to play guitar, so I got him a Strat for Solstice (Damn, I'm a good dad!). It then sat in the basement for a few years, then got pawned to a friend. Meanwhile he took 6 years of drum lessons (got him a Pearl kit - why couldn't I have a dad like me?) - then he decided to sign up for guitar lessons, using my accoustic. A few months later the Strat was redeemed, and, at 21, he 's good enough to pay for his beer and - well, you know - with his playing, and to mock Dad's lousy chops, the little ingrate.

Peter

PS - the friend who held it was infected with GAS - had no guitar before, 13 when I got the Strat back, and over 30 now. He curses me - but his heart isn't in it.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone giving Solstice presents before. I like it.

Bill, he's now gone from bass to being an A&R guy at a small local label. I'm not sure that's an improvement.

Ibpesq, yes buddy, the Musicmaster I really found in a trash can. I deliver chinese food, now I do as a part time job, cause I work as a realtor, and driving at night in pompano beach FL I saw these 2 guitar cases, 1 guitar and 1 bass all musicmaster, the bass had a short scale, too short and I sold to a friend with short fingers, he loved it, and I kept the guitar, I used many times, good action, and about my collection I've planing to get more instruments soon.

My son started to play almost by accident, first he began listening to very har rock, new bands, and playing some songs, and I am always around him, showing good fingering positions, to avoid running up and down the neck, scales, etc... Then I gave him one game from Play station with a guitar, called guitar hero, he changed towards the type of music, now he knows songs with The Police, Cheap Trick, Pink Floyd, Metalica, and the list goes on with 70's rock, and I try to let him use my pedals, other amps, flip to 5 strings bass, and back to 4 strings, I know that he wants a guitar SG gibson, one of my favorites, maybe I'll buy one, but money first. I'm planing to set-up all my rig along with his rig, I play with a GK 800 and 2 GK Cabinets, and play more often, also I want to teach guitar to his little friend, for free, and this way force them to play together, and so, one pushes the other to play even more.
