Sorry John, I'm unable to see any of these pictures. The auction that was for an Orion but originally had photos of an Electrum had a Wengé top if I remember correctly. |

I just don't think these are image files - there's no extension on the filename. Maybe these are messages in your hotmail account? If you can save the images to your computer, and load them like you did the photos in your other Showcase threads, I'm sure that I'll be able to view them. |

I seem to remember a thread where Mica said they made a small series of vermillion-topped Electrums for one shop. Nice one! |

This is the Vermilion one. We made three Electrums with set necks for a shop in CT. One in Black, one in Vermilion, and one in Quilted Maple with a moonburst finish. |

Longtime lurker here, I think this is my second post, what's my username and pwd is the question... I found this guitar on ebay and bought it a while back. I had Gary Brawer install a pre-vol pot effects loop and switch the knobs from two vol and two filter to one master vol, one pup blend and two filter pots. The pup selector switch now activates and deactivates the effects loop. I love the result and have had numerous inquiries and comments about the "Jerry tone." I had originally contacted Alembic about doing the mod. I think I emailed them twice, but never got a response... I figured that the shop must be too busy and in retrospect, that's actually a good thing! So, I figured if Brawer did this mod on Garcia's Cripe guitar, he was certainly qualified to work on my Alembic. He took his sweet time doing the job, and told me he spoke with Alembic about the guitar and how best to install this mod into this particular guitar. He did a GREAT job and in the end the result has made me very happy. So kudos to Alembic for making these fine instruments and to Gary for dialing this one in for me. My only complaint is the instrument's weight and the very heavy headstock which causes it to slide down unless I'm holding the neck. It'd be great to get a chambered Electrum. Oh, and the case (after market) in the pics is the one I have with it. It sucks and is way too big for the guitar. Anyone know where I can buy a form fitted case for an Electrum? Hi Mike, congrats on picking up this nice Electrum! You can order a case through Alembic. There are also some other custom case makers that have been mentioned on the board, where you draw an outline of your instrument and send it in. |
