Thanks - if you saw my post in the 'wanted' section, I was originally looking for a Rogue 5 but this one became available and I went for it. Turns out to be in perfect condition too so that's a bonus. I had played a Europa 5 about a month earlier and really liked it. So, now I have one and I smile every time I pick it up. Thanks for your interest.

How times change, Kevin this bass is now in Birmingham England. I purchased if from a seller in London Yesterday. I'm still on cloud 9.

It's one hell of a 5 string mother plucker....... :-)

Wow - this is s surprise. It's been a while and I don't recall who I originally sold it to but it was someone in the US for sure. It's good to know that it is in a good home and with someone that appreciates the bass. Next to my custom King, this Europa is the finset bass I have ever played or owned. Good luck with it and thanks for writing.

I got if from a guy who lived in USA and has now moved to the UK so that was the trans atlantic route here.

Everyone who has owned it has certainly looked after it. It is like brand new.

Shakeyeraz,I'd like to track the history of the bass. Were you the first owner of it?
Did you pick it up from a shop or was it one you had on order from alembic direct or through a dealer?

I bought the bass from Bass Northwest in Seattle. At that time it was pre-owned. I believe that the previous and original owner's last name was 'Morris' - same as mine which is why I remember it. I did communicate with him once but I don't have the email or any other info. Alembic might have helped me out here as well - too long ago (and too many basses ago).
Good luck and please post any info here.

Well, tonight my Europa 5 goes out on it's first gig. I play guitar mainly but tonight I have a rare bass gig so it's out to meet the public.
Musically the set includes a mix of bass sounds as we are covering music from Stanley Clarke, marcus Miller, Victor Bailey, Jeff Lorber, Grover Washington Jr, so it gives me chance to get check out the versatility of the instrument in a live context.

I've played it a lot at home since purchasing it and once I've get the initial sound right on the amp, I can get all the sounds I want from the bass and my fingers.

Thanks for keeping this thread up to date on what's happening. A bit of a conincidence, after giving up playing bass for almost 2 years now (went back to playing keyboards) I actually used my custom King last week for some prep for recording. As always, the Alembic offers the extreme versatility often needed.
