Got my first Alembic this last week. Drove all the way to Los Angeles from NM to get it from a member, midmoto. Some of the story is here. midmoto is great to trade with btw, and very gracious for giving this one up.
More pics if you want 'em. When I saw this thing, I nearly dropped my jaw. I've been stunned on how it sounds too. I've never played a bass so nice. |

Cool bass! Did you enjoy the 12 hour drive? When I met my wife, she was at school in Las Vegas (NM Highlands). I did the drive from Orange County to NM quite a few times. Mind numbing isn't it? Is that a burl maple top? It's cool whatever it is.... |

Mind numbing. Yes.... At least I've got a friend in Santa Barbara. It's a spalted maple top. Perdy.... Tomorrow I get the truss rods adjusted. I don't think it likes the weather here. |

That's the coolest Essence I've seen as of now... That thing is killer, and more pics would be great. Is the fretboard worn down at all? Cheers, Will |

And the back:
The fretboard has very little appreciable wear on it. I've switched to flats, but the fretboard is so thick that I could sand it a bunch of times. |
