It's nice...VERY nice.
Still I'm always wondering: does it plays comfortably strapped around the neck, the balance?
Forgive me I never played one.

Thanks for the kudos. It plays EXTREMELY comfortable, both sitting down, and with a strap. I was anticipating strapping on this heavy piece of lumber, and it being somewhat awkward, bit it's bee-you-ti-ful to play. The balance is outstanding on it. I spent a ton of time the other night with my trusty tube of Flitz, polishing it up, and restringing. It's great. The band I'm in (20+ years now...egads!) started out wearing our collective love for The Who on are sleeves, so this type of a bass has always been a dream for me. Not only the shape, ala Entwistle mid 70's to early 80's, but the TONE! I just love that punch.

As a sidebar, my band had the pleasure of opening for The Ox in the late 80's in Chicago. Wow...talk about a thrill, meeting one of your true bass idols, and then having him be an exceedingly nice person to boot.

Hey Paul...why are you "the bad one"?

***sigh***
Greg ... this is a sad story.
Once it was that there were two Paul's who liked each other very much.
The first one came from Boston (US), the second from the other side of the pond Leuven (Belgium).
All the messing around with the "Pauls" (what Paul? Which Paul? Where Paul?) drove them crazy. There are just so much fantastic bass-players around naming Paul HA!!!
Now the Boston Paul (formerly known as "the western one", or "the none but-one", or "the IRS fighting one", or the "US one") once called himself "the good one".
This Paul - I mean myself- immediately called himself "the bad one" and opened the question to the club "where's the 'ugly' one"?
Brother DIno was candidate, he is SO sweet ...that wouldn't work. BTW he is a VERY beatifull guy: go and watch his profile and private website.
So we decided to call Dino: "Paul the fake one".
Now we are still looking for a Paul "the ugly one". I thought about Paul Schwartz but (gosh) he s a very nice man too.
Now I'm thinking of Claire being "Paul- the ugly one". That makes sense because she is a beautiful woman. So we don't offend her. We could ask MIca but she's the boss and you don't mess around with bosses, especially not with female bosses.
So.
That's the story.

Paul (the "but" one)

BTW: you just were messed up in one long joke between 2 Alembic weirdo's loving old spaghetti-westerns
LOL

Wow...that's quite a story. Heartbreak...tears...laughter...and ultimately joy. An apPAULling story? ;-)
