Very, very nice looking bass! Great Omega shot showing all the neck lams. Bookmatched to center is sweet. I haven't seen much of that work until recently. Play it lots and stay well Mark! Art |

Hi guys, nice to hear from you, and I appreciate your appreciation of my new awesome 6-String -as I've appreciated and admired your various masterpieces... Pierre-Yves' Stanley and recent Balance K, Dave (Houck's) various Alembics -including the 3-pickup Essense, Bassjigga Dave's awesome Ebony Europa in progress, Graeme's awesome custom Rogue and the recent Signature he inherited from Mike the 'Ho, Keavin's "Old Number 12" and Flip's Spoilers and Elan!!! Thanks again for your appreciation, gang! And Mike, I'm really looking forward to seeing an update on your thread, and trust that the Coco Bolo you get'll knock your socks off!!! Just trust the king, and get yourself a pair of bass & treble controls!!! Trust me... you'll be glad you did! And Art... you're such a nice guy... it really sucks, your luck with the recent tales of lamentation... but your time will come, you'll get your Alembic... you will... and it'll be great! And I'll be here to see it happen. Take your time, be patient, and get the right one for you. My recommendation is to get a custom, if possible; even a modest custom would be totally awesome. The lowest end neck-thru, with the right special of the month, custom neck length and scale, and one or two custom options would totally rock! Thanks again, guys! Barring something horrible happening that requires one of my two Alembics to be replaced... this'll probably be my last one. Believe me... the two that I have'll hold me... they're built to last... a lifetime! My two custom Alembic cover virtually the entire spectrum -excluding fretless basses. If I become rich, that'll be my next Alembic. Until such a time, I'm incredibly satisfied and content with the two that I have. This latest bass is just incredibly awesome... a perfect "10" in the looks department, the sound is also just incredible, and the versatility is utterly mind-boggling, something which can only be equaled or surpassed by another Alembic. It's just so awesome... |

Hey Mark, She's a beauty! Love that Omega where the maple pinstripes end - That is so cool! The neck lams are especially pretty too! Enjoy it in good health for a very long time! Your experience has helped many of us fine-tune our wants and likes to a more cohesive idea for our own custom to be! Thanks for sharing! You are truely the KING! Kris |

Mark, that is sooooo tasty. Thanks for posting the pictures. I love how red it is, and the neck, and how the BTC came out, esp. at the omega. So nice. I can imagine that it sounds unbelievable, too. The mahogany plus ebony is a great basis, then adding in the other little flavors, man... |

Thanks, guys!!! I'm glad y'all are enjoying the little details, as I am! Sir Charles, you sure got it right about the Ebony and the Mahogany in the neck... you know of what you speak! It's a fantastic sonic combo -especially with the other neck woods and the Coco Bolo! Your Dragonfly, and Thunder and Lightning were big influences -particularily the combo of Ebony AND Mahogany in the neck... so I'm glad you dig it, and grateful for your influence! |

Mark ...that's a GREAT looking bass! Maybe this is discussed already but has this bass a relatively narrow stringspacing?? It surely lokks easy to play. Well ...unfortunately almost EVERY bass looks easy toplay when the owner holds it! Paul the bad one |

Beuatiful! If I ever order another custom, it would be very similar to what you have there, minus a string, heart omega, LEDs, otherwise pretty similar. Peace, James |

The string spacing is relatively narrow, Paul... 2 inches at the nut, and 2&2/3rds at the 24th fret. I love it! It's easy to play -and of course... it sounds great! |

Hi Barry. If I do a "look Ma, no hands" and wiggle my body just keeping my hands "spotting" the bass (I ALWAYS keep at least one hand under an instrument in case it falls for any reason) is seems to settle in about a "2:30" position; but the overall balance is excellent, and it's VERY easy to keep in whatever position I choose. I use one of the fancy wide Alembic leather Moody straps for my heavy 8-string; but I haven't tried it on this bass yet, and just use a plain little strap -which works quite well. Paul, James, nice to hear from you guys! |
