Hi, all. New to the Alembic family. Here's my first purchase, an Orion 5, Europa electronics, side LEDS, Bird's eye top, crown peg head. Stramge choice on the peg head, bought it from a dealer, but once i start playing i don't think about the head shape at all! Sorry to loose my American Jazz Deluxe, but worth every moment since.
adios,
Mike

The fourth switch has to be the on/off for the side leds.

Valentino,
You're right on the money. It's the one switch whose function I haven't shown my kids, you can imagine why...

Yes. Very nice bass. If the thought has ever crossed your mind that your Alembic is just a bit heavier than you'd prefer...the strap will help you out.

Welcome to the Club!! Good conversation and friendly people here. Of course you've already held off the picture-hounds by posting your gig-shot up front. But more are always welcome!!

Welcome to the club, Midus. How about some details on the Orion? Great bass!

You might as well get some pictures together to keep Paul TBO from getting to wound up. He'll be banging bottles soon.

thankx guys for the welcoming.
The bass behind the lady singer (Melanie C ex-sporty Spicegirl,I was on her first world tour), is a black Zoot costum made by Mike Walsh-Iceni, you can check out their site
www.zootbass.co.uk
Great basses also mine`s got a couple Bartolini pickups

forgot about the Marshall rig, it`s 2 4x12" cabins with 2x400watts heads. Brilliant sound i got from them.
At home i use a 1x15" and a 4x10"speakers with a 400watts head to practice. Love the Marshall sound with any of my basses, For the road I always take my great Alembic Orion5, Costume made Zoot5 DeluxeF and
Zoot4 Performer, Costum made JP-midas2000 and my Semi-accoustic Godin 5.
Speak soonxxx

Ohmygod...

BROTHER DAAAAAAAAAAAA-AVID (the loud one).
Check out this gal!!!!
She's "practicing at home" with a 1x15" and a 4x15" with 400W head!!!!!!!!
Madre dios!
That's what I use (Tweak peaks) for a LIVE rig!
Oh ...huh ...I'm "practicing at home" at my Danalectro dunno-watt-inch. Check the picture: a sundayafternoon "jam" with my future sun-in-law (yes ...I'm THAT old).
Lool at he small box left on the dishwasher: ....ooooooooooh what a RIG!!!!!!! (you have to admit ...it's th eonly rig in the world who's bottem-end is provided by a Miele dish washing machine LOL)

Paul the bad one

PS: BTW: I knew Zoot basses and they are great (check out the site brothers and sisters and keep on dreaming ...you'll understand easily why -here in Europe- I often say that the CORE of the Alembic products are the electronics ...not the wood-part/design alone).

Paul, is that the broomstick you talk about?

That is a pretty impressive practice setup, Midus. My entire amp arsenal at the moment probably equals about 30 watts total.

sorry guys didn`t mean to sound the wrong way, it`s just... that was the gear I used to use for my gigs, before i got into session and got endorsed by Marshall for those Tours, so, my own amp stays at home and why not use it? Off course, not too loud... or I really would have to answer to my neighbours...lol.
But hey thankx for the coments, I`m starting to like my new bass buddies...

This thread has come 'round full circle. The Orion is on it's way to a new home.
For those of you looking for an 'entry level' Alembic, the Orion is a fantastic option, and if you can afford Europa controls so much the better.
