I just got my new Excel yesterday. I'm still getting to know it, but it sounds great and plays great. Here are a few pictures. I'll put up a few more when I get some better ones... it's hard to get the lighting right.

Excel body

Excel peghead

This bass has a nice earthy brown color that didn't come through very well in these pictures. It's not brown bass brown, but more of a lighter brown or tan. The color of the fingerboard looks more accurate in the peghead picture.

Congratulations on a beautiful Excel.
That's a grain pattern I could get lost in, and a beautiful neck/board as well.
Play her in good health.

Mike, very nice looking bass. Burls always have so much character. In my opinion the Excel is the prettiest body shape Alembic makes.

I love this bass! This is almost exactly what I would get.

The lighting is difficult. I've been having a hard time trying to photograph my europa as well.

That's just beautiful!!! Outstanding!!!

The fretless Excel is just the meanest, growliest thing ever. It's just my favorite Bass of all time.

Many years of pleasure with it.

Hey Rami, some of what you've written on these pages helped me decide to go with the Excel when I was thinking about buying a new fretless. So thanks!

I think I made the right choice... It's the best fretless I've ever played :-)

Congratulations again on a truly magnificent Bass. I became a believer the first time I picked one up. It's my "Bass of Doom".

Best wishes,

:-)

What are this fourth Control on it? I thought all Excels had just 3 pots...

Mario; originally, the standard electronics on an Excel had one pickup and three controls; volume, bass, and treble. The current standard setup for an Excel is two pickups and four controls; volume, pan, bass, and treble.
