Hi to all Alembic fans all over the world. I just want to share what I call "coming home". I was playing my Excel 5 for years, and I had the luck to get an Orion 5 and Essence 5 in perfect condition too.

So after work I allways have the choice you can see on the fotos. So what shall I say - thank you Alembic. I found my basses, I found my dreams.

Kind regards from germany,
Chris

Hi Bassmann68,

yes - you are right. It is an LMK standing on a tech soundsystem ND110S ( 300 Watt, 9 Kg / 20 lb ! ) - this is my livingroom stack.

For the stage I prefer my glockenklang enclosures: Uno Rock and Quattro. To my surprise, the LMK is strong enough to handle this stack.

Kind regards,
Chris

Welcome to the club Chris... nice bass family!

300W at 9Kg? That's impressive. Do you know of a webpage for that? I couldn't find it online.

How does it sound?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it...

Hi 3rd_ray,

in the meantime they changed their name to tecamp ( www.tecamp.de ). To my point of view, the neodym speakers do allways sound a little more agressive, especially on higher volumes. But if you are playing a small setup ( like this little enclosure ), this might be an advantatge, because with the band you have a better sound. The small 110 and the little bigger 112 sound pretty warm and natural. The 110 is a closed enclosure ( no bass-reflex ), what makes it a little more detailled. Even with a big Amp ( this little LMK has 500 Watt at 4 Ohm ! ), this enclosure sounds very good, even if you turn it louder. There are different positions for the horn - from warm attack to hard attack, and you can even switch it on and off with a footswitch ( interesting for slappers ? ). As there is a new series on the market, I got this little baby really cheap.

But the best thing at all - my wife loves it, because it is so small! So I was permitted to have it in the livingroom.

Appart from this joke - it is allways a pleasure to play with such a little setup. First of all, everybody is laughing, until you raise the volume a little bit.

Kind regards,
Chris

Thanks for the info Chris. I have the same thing in mind, something small for the living room. I might give TecAmp a try.

That top looks a lot like the top on my Essence. I wonder if it was cut from the same board.

If I had three blonde girls that looked like that, I'd never let them leave the house. Just kidding. Just awesome.

Hi to the Alembic club !

I'd proudly like to present the number 4 of my collection. Isn't it a real beauty ? Thanks a lot to the club member, who sold this great fretless bass to me. Now my collection is complete - let's see how long ;-))

Hello to the club !

After years of searching, I found a new member of my family - a custom Excel 5 with a spectacular buckeye burl top. See the picture !

This is the best place in my livingroom ;-))

Kind regards,
Bassicmusik
