The front is Walnut burl with a maple burl pickguard (my first bass, a Fender Musicmaster had a pickguard; while totally useless, I love the way it looks). The body core is flame maple. The back is cocobolo. This bass is so incredibly easy to play, I think it could make anyone sound good. This bass tells me: "I am a beauty, no matter what you think." It really has understatement. And the burled wood looks great. I guess this bass has the worlds most expensive pickguard. Soooooooooooo cool man! Paul the bad one I guess you play with your fingers because the burled mapleis way too cool to "guard pick" ;-)
