Now the tailpiece is getting black and the bridge is almost completely brown. The wood shines a bit more, because the finish has worn off, but it still plays like a dream. If you've got the time, you can completely disassemble the bridge and polish it up with Flitz. It usually takes me a while to complete this project; endlessly polishing very small pieces can be tiresome on the eyes and fingers. It's a really cool photo, just a funny depth of field problem that seems to draw the eye right to the shoe, leaving those of us in the know to hunt out the Alembic logo. But the smile is a good clue.
