I guess I learn something new every day. I never questioned the wood type , I just took his word on it. I guess I never looked at a picture of the bubingawood finish to compare it to my Epic. It may take a while to get the info as this is a "spare time" project for Mica. Also, be sure to do a search of the whole forum for your serial number to see if anyone has already requested info. Mine is almost identical, but fretless. Here is a good lighted pic showing the top which is Wenge. Wenge has a very big open grain as can be seen in your first pic, but bubinga does not. Kris
