BTW: Is he such a big guy or does he play a smaller body size ? He is a big guy. The Alembic he played appeared disproportionately small in comparison with his dimensions. Does he use Vermilion for all these for appearance, tone, or both? For the neck, how does the Vermilion differ from Purpleheart lams or an all Maple neck? I would guess it adds some sustain and low end to an all Maple but not as much as the Purpleheart.
