as said in thread "family", the SC on the left is tuning EADG, center red bass is ADGC, and right MK5 is EADGC.

I looking now for the measure of the neck: 3mm of difference of width between the 2 SC !!!

Pierre-Yves - doesn't the SC in the middle have narrower string spacing? Then the neck is probably less wide, and perhaps they used different widths for the neck laminates to keep it all in proportion.

sorry adriaan, I don't measure it, don't measure width of laminates. They are narrower on the new cocobolo. Mica, please answer why so difference (it's ok for my playing but just to understand so big difference) and why you ask me by mail if it's me I bought this bass ?

Your newer SC bass has the newer, narrow fingerboard specs of 1.5 x 2.15 compared to your older bass which is likely closer to 1.75 x 2.25. If you custom order a bass, you can instruct us to what size neck you want, even if it's something we've never built before.

I asked if you bought the bass because you had me email some special pictures of it.

Here are my two babies: the MK is a medium scale, with 1.75" x 2.25" comparing the narrow 1.5" x 2.15"!!!
So I'm much comfortable with the SC!

Cheers!

The pic was just to show the different size of laminates between the medium and the short scale. Your old short scale laminates look very similar to those on my medium scale!

Please tell me, with the Vermillion Core, is there a different sound to Mahagony Core?

school days, lopsy lu, wild dog & goodbye pork pie hat. A lot of work will be necessary for next monthes.
