This bass started life as a full point body until an unfortunate and vigorous funk gig and loose fitting watch put a thousand dings in my finish....I returned it to the factory for a strip and refin, but somewhere between the two, Mica and I got our heads together and decided to make it a Triple Heart Omega. Not only did it lighten the bass a bit, but it COMPLETELY transfirmed this bass into a gorgeous natural sculpture ! I can NEVER thank the folks at Alembic enough for what Mica refers to as the "Transmogrification" !
Thanks and All the best for 2009! 98/02 Triple Heart Omega MK Std

That really is an amazing transformation. Do you have a "before" picture?

Super cool! It looks great.
Are the side omega cuts smaller than on a traditional triple O?

At a guess I'd say the switch was for the led's.

Thanks for all the cool comments ! The switch is indeed for the side LED's....because the side Omegas went in as an afterthough, they had to be smaller, otherwise the radii on the back would be too close to the 4x9v battery box powering the LED's. I actually bought another signature bass in 2003 which had the very same catchy "smaller" side omegas....equally stunning in Buckeye Burl... check it out......I think Mica briefly toyed with the idea of calling them Bobby Devlin side omegas...hahaha! What an HONOR that would have been, huh?My 2003 MJ 5'er in Buckeye Burl

Me too. It keeps more of that beautiful wood but still has the omega look. Even more food for thought.

The absolutely coooolest thing about the factory body mods to the walnut 4 string above was that Mica included in the case the 3 pieces which were cut out of the bass ! Too cool ! Gives you an excellent feel for how much weight was removed from the bass! She also kept me abreast of the bass' progress with photos while it was in Santa Rosa and I was chewing my fingernails off in New York !
