The Bird's Eye Maple top would actually be very nice with a refinish. The central vac was roughed-in but not hooked-up. When I was building my studio/finishing the basement, I wasn't paying any attention to those "pipes that weren't hooked-up to anything". A couple of years ago I decided to get the central vac going and... I had sheetrocked over all the downstairs pipes!!! I found a cool use for the system though: a mouse crawled in one of the upstairs pipes (they terminated in the attic) and he slid down to one of the wall outlets. The bass and treble controls are asymmetrical, +6dB and -15dB, centered around 100Hz and 5KHz.
