Hey guys! Just wanted you to know that I've purchased a brand new Stanley Clarke from Bass Central. My first brand new Alembic!
I came to Vegas with some friends and decided to bring home a new baby!
I'll post pictures as soon as I get home!
All I can say now is: What an unbelievable bass... So easy and fast...
It has Cocobolo top and back, Mahogany core, Red leds with Amber on the 12th and 24th frets, Purpleheart/Maple usual neck recipe, and the signature electronics...

I'm really anxious to plug it in!

Greg

That's great news Greg.

It's great to add another "SLAMMER" in the ring with you, because it's another Alembic too... your band-width of sound will be enormously unlimited.

I am happy for you Greg, very happy indeed my friend. I have so many things to look forward on... WOW WHAT A YEAR!

Peace and Love,

Hal-

That bass sounds like the same as mine except for the led's. Be prepared for some aural orgasms.

These basses sound great, look great and play better/easier than they sound and look. I just don't think you could go wrong with one of these basses. Wonderful choice. Lots of pictures, please!

Great, Greg!

What a nice bunch of basses you are gathering. This model surely has that "aura" that made some basses legendary.

Folks, thanks for the compliments on the bass! It is indeed something really special... I didn't manage to post pictures yesterday because I just couldn't stop playing!
But as promised, here they are:

Congratulations, that is a beautiful bass! Isn't Coco-Bolo a wonderful sound.

My altered egos of 'Tommy and Shorty' say's:

"That's a Badaasss Bass" you got.

But then again, you have good taste anyway so honestly, Greg I wouldn't expect any less from you.

Now, all you need is a vintage 70's Alembic :-)
Shorty...(which I am sure you will enjoy hunting and tracking...)

The thrill of the chase, is it's own reward my friend. They're pretty much are endangered these days.

Peace and Love,

Hal-

Hey Art!
It sure is. I really love the sound... I now understand why SC + Signature Electronics + Cocobolo = is such a famous combination. And the Mohagany core just puts the cherry on the top.

I'm in love again!

Thanks Hal, your compliments always are extremely welcome!

Vintage 70's Alembic... Yes, that would definitely be a wonderful addition... No doubt!! :-)

The next in my list is ordering a Custom, but who knows what might happen if a Vintage comes up...?

Just ordered some custom knobs from THG for this baby. I should have them by the beginning of April.
I'm really excited, I think they will look original and amazing... Let's see!

Greg, Btw, did you order those from David King- he makes custom wood knobs, doesn't he, if I recall correctly?

Those are going to look incredible, I'm sure with that honey of a bass!

I think there might be a set of those, in my future...

If you have a link for where you ordered those from please share it with us!

Congrats on The Beautiful Bass!

Frank

Frank,
I ordered them from Roger, from THG Knobs.
Simply email him. You tell him the shape you want, the woods you wants and he makes the magic.
And he was actually pretty fast, so you don't get impatient waiting! He made my knobs in a month.
I wanted them to look the more original possible, by replacing the plastic ones with the most similar design, but out of wood.
IMO, Alembic should offer knobs like mine as a normal option for their basses. I just find those plastic ones not worthy of being on such awesome wood tops...
Let's see how this ones go against the cocobolo top of my bass....

Obrigado Mario! You will see it at our future gathering...
The knobs are on the bass, I'm just waiting for the skies to clear to take some shots for you guys to see...
I really liked the look of it! Definitely something that will be on my future custom!
