hi everyone
for those who don't know me,i'm jimmy. i just wanted to show everybody what the bass of doom looks like.
it is featured on alembic's custom archives.
this bass is ALL about the sublities.
there are a lot of hidden or small things you have to ask for... can you spot them out?

We haven't heard from Jimmy in a while, so I'll answer based on conversations I've had with him.

The original "Bass of Doom" was Jaco's old Fender. Also, Jimmy had a habit of using "doom" to refer to things that are "awesome". This bass is newer than mine (June 2000 for mine). Jimmy and I talked on the phone about my bass as he was deciding what he wanted on this one. It's probably a 2001. It was his 2nd Alembic at that time.

Peace,

James

(Jimmy - if you're lurking, pop in!)

yes james is right on with the info!
man i used to be on here all the time ....
lifes been busy...making music!!!!!
anyways
the ORIGINAL bass of doom is indeed jaco's 62 fretless jazz bass.
i took that name, and made my own bass of doom.
doom = awesome!

Hi Jimmy, man is that a beautiful piece. The back is as gorgeous as the front. You are generous indeed to put out such a kind offer. If I lived closer I'd come by just to look at her. Nevermind trying her, I'd like to marry her! How large a dowery would she require? Hope she is affectionate, as I couldn't keep my hands off her. Very nice!
