So I finally got a Series bass. I've owned plenty of Alembics, but honestly- I had no idea. I've heard so many of you talk about how much better series instruments are than others, and I just kind of shrugged it off and called it opinion. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have honestly never heard anything that sounds this good. This thing makes sounds I didn't know basses could. I just spent like a half an hour tuning the E string (by ear, couldn't find my tuner) because I could actually tell that it was like a couple of cents off. That's never happened to me. I am sufficiently blown away and speachless, so here are some bad pictures from my apartment that has very poor lighting situations. Oh, and thanks Mark!!!

If you can't tell, It's a Coco Bolo top. Maple laminates and a Mahogany core. Maple neck with purpleheart laminates that are very very brown (which is cool, i'm not so into the purpleheart look). I believe the hardware is chrome plated. Series 1 electronics with a master volume.
Sometime soon I'll try to get it in some natural light and take some better pictures, but the door to my back patio currently looks like this:
snow!!!

oh well, back to playing!

I've said the same thing about Series basses for a long time, although I don't want to make owners of non-Series instruments feel bad! Welcome to the club!

I'm visiting in Boston and the snow was pretty intense here as well.

You have got yourself an excellent 5 string there! I wanted that bass but I didn't have enough loot though. I know that series bass sounds unbelievably great! Kudos!
