Okay, a while back I said I would go to Performance Music in Woburn to see if they intend to carry any Alembics. Well, they currently don't carry them. However, Seitu told me if I was interested in one, he could get it. He has sold many Alembics in Georgia, so I'm told ;)

Of course, he is a great salesman as I walked out of there with a new SWR Workingman's 4004! I like the sound of this amp a lot more than my Hartke and since I just got finished making new speaker cables, I'll be playing with this amp all night :-)

Hmmm...

I'm not sure why this is a good thing. My interest in a local dealer was to have someplace that would carry at least 3-4 basses where I could go to see and try them. There's no shortage of dealers to buy from at a good price if that's all you're looking for. Additionally, I don't see why Alembic would sell to him at the same price they sell to dealers that regularly stock and promote their instruments, so he might not even be able to get you a good price. Added to that, Alembics are pricey enough from the factory that paying shipping to an out-of-state dealer is going to save you money over paying sales tax in-state as well.

If he's a good tech and you need that, it might be nice to create a relationship there. Other than that, I'll be excited when he becomes a full dealer and carries a stock.

On the up side, you did better than I did when I tried to talk a guy I know into dealing. He was just totally uninterested!

Well, I suppose you could always go talk to Seitu, who is not the owner. From what Mica told me, he sold a lot of Alembics for them when he was in Georgia so he could be really helpful in helping you figure out which bass would suit you. I would also imagine that he could help you get a good deal on an Alembic?

Anyway, if you are in the area, stop by and see him (and me too!). He is a stand-up guy :-)
