I’ve got some new gear and I’m not sure how it should be best employed, and I would appreciate the advice of the group. I have the following gear: Alesis NanoCompressor (new) BBE 411 (new) Alembic SF-2 (new) DOD 1/3 octave EQ Furman PQ3 parametric EQ Hartke 2000 amp Peavey CS-800 amp with several crossover plugins 2 homebrew cabinets, each with 1 x 15” ElectroVoice EVL 1 homebrew cabinet with 2 x 10” ElectroVoice EVL 1 vanilla cabinet with 1 x JBL 15” 2 x Bose 800 clones. I need to set up 2 rigs: a stationary one at church, and a semi-mobile one that I will use for lessons and gigs. My current thinking: Church rig: one of the 1 x 15” EV and the 2 x 10” cabs, PQ3, CS-800 (so I don’t have to move it). Lesson rig: 1 x 15” EV cabinet, the NanoCompressor, BBE, SF2, and the Hartke. The DOD eq and JBL 1 x 15 get put in storage and the Bose clones get used as stereo speakers for lessons. For small gigs I’d take the lesson rack and the 2 x 10” cab. For big gigs (but wait, I don’t do big gigs anymore). So I have two questions: 1. Any serious disagreement with the allocation of gear? 2. For the lesson rack, I’m considering the following signal chain: compressor : Hartke : SF2 : BBE (through the fx loop). Thanx for your input.
