Just found these two sites that feature "rather unconventional basses" and figured at least some members may not have come across them yet. Interesting designs suggesting, at the least, that bass players have great imaginations (although are not necessarily individuals who place a premium on functionality).

The Gumby bass was just a distraction so we could sneak a couple of fur-covered Elans through the front office!

RE: Ric 4080: That one is my non-Alembic holy grail. If anyone finds one for sale, let me know. "Xanadu" (Rush version, or Olivia Newton John) will sound so very, very sweet...
