Hello Folks, I have just joined a Rush tribute band. I am looking at buying a tc electronics rh750 to emulate Geddy's sound (The jazz bass sound not the Rickenbacker as I have a 70's Jazz bass) Has anyone have anything to report regarding this amplifier? Thank you in anticipation of your responses. slawie |

Mark King, featured on YouTube, at the introduction of the amps by T.C. Electronics at the British equivalent of Bass Player Live. You can find them by going to the TC Electronics website. |

Awesome playing, as I've always regarded Mark King. ANd now I wonder... Is there, anywhere, does anybody really know, why did MK stopped using Alembics? (Or at least why did he stopped using them IN PUBLIC)? Is it only for the advantages of an endorsement? It haven't read anything about it... |

Mark has a history of changing the products he endorses. It would appear to be money, free equipment, sonic pallette et. al. I still enjoy his playing, and whatever he decides has never invalidated a choice I have made for myself. Steve Bailey and Brian Bromberg also move around their endorsement, so to speak. |

Tubeperson is right, Mark likes to change basses quiker than we change undewear!!. Since his excursion from Alembic he has used a Fender, Goodfellow, and his newer Status's. I guess if some gear company is going to throw there products to you for free as long as you use them then I doubt that anyone would do the same. I have always loved his playing style, he was an 80's bass hero, where in the UK there were synth bands popping up all over the place Level 42 were a welcome change |

Juan Carlos, you can't get too caught up in what player is using which axe. It runs the gamut from guys like Clapton and his Strats or our Jimmy Johnson and his S2's who have settled on an used the same guitar(s) over and over for years, to the other end of the spectrum where you never see a guy wih the same axe twice. This occurs for any number of reasons, usually capped off by the interview about his new record that reveals . . . he ALWAYS records with the same two or the three axes you've NEVER seen him with in pictures ! Some famous guys get fronted lots of free guitars, some guys collect and can never make up their mind what to use on any given day, some have endorsement deals where they can only be photgraphed with that brand of guitar (which they NEVER play when the camera is not around), and on and on. An up and coming bassist here in Nashville signed multiple endorsement deals, appeared in three different ads in BASS PLAYER one month with three different brands of bass: All three companies hit the ceiling, took their guitars back, and one of them sued him ! SO . . . always take what you see with who's playing what with a little skepticism. You never get to know the back-story most of the time. J o e y |
