So it's taken me just very nearly 30 years to get there, but last night I opened my case there was no power supply, no 5-pin cable and no tuner. Shoot. I knew exactly, precisely where they were, too. I had played Friday night with the horn band in Evansville at Casino Aztar and now I was at Sparky's Roadhouse some 175 miles away. I was packing my things and set a handful of stuff down in front of the keyboards at the front edge of the stage when someone came up and started chatting with me, and now my inattention has bitten me.

The good part is that the same band was playing at Aztar again tonight with their regular bassist (Jon Hyneman), and a quick phone call confirmed that it was all still sitting right where I'd left it. The guitar player, Scott Mercer, is going to hang onto it until I can get down to retrieve my stuff..

*sigh*

So I'm pretty happy I decided to toss the Lakland in the trunk as a second bass for the night..

The stars must have been completely out of alignment, since Dicky James forgot his guitar amp and ended up using the harp player's (Bob Freeze) backup 4x10 Fender Bassman, which sounded really good btw..

Anyway, the gig was fun and when I get some BassCam stuff uploaded I'll post in my gigs thread. It's fantastic to be at a point in my musical life where the drummers I get to play with are all exceptional..

John

edited to add the crux of the biscuit to a word..

Glad to hear that it was confirmed to be where you left it and that the gig was a good one!

Been there, got the t shirt..now I always have my attention to my gear at the end of the night, the best way is to have the gear in your hand whilst talking then you MAY not forget it!!

Don't forget, even with a standard guitar cord you get one pick-up. Half a Series bass is better than none...

I don't keep batteries in it! :-( I've even already got the cord made to give me both pickups. I am a train wreck.
