Any thoughts on the noise level of my F-1X. When the bright switch is engaged, it is especially noisy. Even without the bright switch engaged, it is noisier than it should be. The tube has never been replaced. Should I check ithe tube? In a recent live performance I opted not to use the XLR out to the mains because the noise would have been transfered to the mains. I opted for a direct box instead. I would prefer to get the noise level down and continue to use the XLR out. Thoughts? |

You might try cleaning the jack contact switch inside the back with very fine folded bit of sandpaper, try another tube, and try cleaning the jacks from the outside with a 9mm pistol cleaning brass brush with a little alcohol (not the kind you drink) on it. I also try inputting my bass at the effects loop return instead of the front jack and see if it's more quit that way when recording. |
