I suspect Wooten, unlike the others, uses strap locks!

I would not trust strap locks on such manuvers, actually. I would only trust a washer inserted between the strap and strap pin securely held in place by a too screw way too large to be healthy for the bass. In other words, I like even my Fender far too much to screw around with it like that. In one of the vids, it was a broken strap that sent the bass out of its orbit around the player. Victor is well off enough to buy as many basses as he wants, and damn good enough with one in hand to where I got zip to say anything about what he does with one (I usually have enough trouble just keeping my mouth closed watching him play). So I will pull the Thumper Rule on further comment.

The thumper rule is a favourite with me. It's easy to apply with Victor.

Was he cordless? Every time I have tried some stunt (spinning my upright bass comes to mind) I just get lost in cord hell.

Wikipedia's Thumper page tells me it's "If you can't say anything nice, don't say nothing at all."

Hey Jazzy, gigging with the Elan 5 is great! :-)
Here's a vid from the first gig: Youtube link (Lethal low B at end of the song)

Great FC! I was planning to take my maple élan/Europa 5 out for my gig Saturday but after taking both my 5's to rehearsals the bocate one has the heavier bottom end which will be a better fit for a reggae gig.

I can't imagine how flipping my Series bass could possibly end in any way other than me getting a concussion.
