Hey All, Not sure if this has been posted yet or not... I apologize if it's a repeat. I came across this bar/restaurant yesterday while I was in San Francisco playing a concert with pianist/composer Harold Budd (shameless plug) I immediately thought of my fellow Alembic lovers and snapped a pick to share with you all. It's on Haight Street in the colorful Haight-Ashbury district. I didn't have time to eat (or drink) but I did go in and grab some matches (couldn't pass that opportunity up!). It seemed a very popular spot. Has anybody been there? It was a bit surreal to see such a historic name, so closely tied to the area as a pioneering instrument building being used for a bar name. Am I missing something here... have the good folks at Alembic gone into the food and drink business and I'm the last one to know about it? |

Well, makes sense to me. An alembic (small "a") is a still, if I'm not mistaken. ;) Cheers! John |
