Just read an online article by a guy named Craig Evans who is wrapping up 2 documentaries about open-back banjo builders (1 about east of the Mississippi, 1 about west); it included a link to a preview video. I think it might resonate with a lot of you like it did with me.

ps - I really didn't notice that I used "resonate" until I previewed the post. Honest.

Interesting. Mike Ramsey is just up the road from me. I'll have to see about dropping by his place next time I'm out that way.

I could imagine the same thing about small scale guitar builders being equally riveting.

Maybe the Wckershams along with some of their dedicated "endorsees" like Stanley, JimmyJ , former and current employees should be interviewed about the history of Alembic and a DVD produced. I'd certainly buy it.

You're welcome, Dave; glad everyone is liking it (I knew that you would!)
I can't wait to see the full-length documentaries - and watch for guitar ones, JV; from the article where I found the link:

"But the real shocker came about halfway into my first interviews, when the Smithsonian Folkways people heard about my adventure. They then asked to include the Documentary Series in their catalog. Whoa! You never know when or where another group of banjo-lovers might surface. In fact, Smithsonian Folkways is even starting a new collection -- The Instrument Builder Collection -- based on the work."

A great video about passionate people who truly believe what they do is for the best for everyone.
Everyone of them inspires us all.
