This is for all of you , especially Spyder Ollie:

Who's seen either of these DVD's? Are they any good?

To clarify: Monterey POp refers to the new multi-disc Set that contains the Hendrix and Otis Redding shows, plus has the original documentary footage of the Who et al.

I have Isle of Wight. Understand that you do have to be a big WHO fan to truly appreciate this. It's been a while since I viewed it but found it to be very good.

Hi Guys,
yes I also do own the IoW DVD.
Stoney has spoken wisely. But it is a great
DVD.
Did anysone see the Live at Boston 2002 DVD and does anyone know if it is still with John playing?

Oliver,

I have not seen the Boston DVD but I do know it is with Pino. It was the second show in Boston. I was at the first and couldn't justify to myself spending the money to go the second show. The Who just isn't the same without John. A guitar player I sometimes work with went to that show and said it was pretty good.

My brother has the Boston DVD. His feeling is there is nothing remarkable about it. Pretty much the same stuff, same stuff, only with Pino...naturally, not as good as with John. However you CAN hear the bass, which is a change.
(Hey Oliver, how are ya?)

I have IoW. I don't think there's anything exceptional on there, except for maybe Pete's shredding tone and feedback mastery on Young Man Blues. He looks totally in command of every single noise his guitar makes and wills it to do his bidding. John has his moments too.

I've heard the Boston DVD is quite good if you're willing to accept the fact that John's not there. Which makes it difficult to justify (although I did spend nearly $500 in Who concert tickets last time 'round).
