no pwr since friday, 5pm. To be restored nlt July 7th @ midnight. Yeh, you read it right---next Saturday.
Have water, bathrooms work, living with crank-up radio (way cool!), and can even practice---laptop holds all my practice material.

So, I use the internal speakers (perfect, bacause it virtually eliminates ALL bass (lol), plus my Sennheiser 424 open ear healphones into my bass and, viola, practice time!

Btw, which bass has the greatest output? I tried all 7 and the '77 Jazz with EMG's takes the prize. Second in line is my Dis, then my Squier Modified 70's Jazz.

The Sennheisers aren't the most efficient. I had a pair of AKG 240M's that were incredibly efficent. Anyway, all is well in yogalembicville (or, to be more precise, Westerville)

Jay; sorry to hear you've been without power, and will continue to be without power. At least you have water and flushing toilets; but everything in the fridge is gone. Here when the power goes out, the water quits too.

In case you haven't discovered it yet, in your Alembic's control cavity are two trim pots, discussed here. If they are not already all the way up, you can increase the output of each pickup if you want.

Hope you get your power back soon.

'Preciate it, Dave!

Dis pots....already jacked 'em up. (first thing I did when she moved in) : ))

I'll make it. Sorta like camping out. : /

Good thing it's not in the dead of winter. Last time, during an ice storm, we lost power for over three days. Nothing to do but keep the water runniing at barely more than a drip, lock up, and leave.

With the heat, throw on a sweat band and strip down, push fluids and wait for the microwave to start flashing "12:00". lol

I've owned a couple basses with EMG's. One just had the pickups. The other had both pickups, and electronice/preamp. They sound very good, but they'll mutate your speakers..even if you go through the low gain input of your amp.
