Hi All! 
I had a request for this one about a month ago, so here it is, but first some background following my 'standard format' of using hundreds and hundreds of words when few would suffice. ;)
This song was specifically requested for a wedding so I wanted to do it as best I could. And, as it all turned out, the bride and groom were very, very pleased with my rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World inspired by the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version.
As this was a 'pretty special occasion' I ended up putting a lot of time and thought into the interpetation and rendition. The downside is when I started playing for it for this video I ran head on into the 'use it or lose it' syndrome, as from not playing it since the wedding I found I had 'forgotten a lot', so I've ended up doing a pretty basic simplistic version for this video.
So, pre-recorded A, B and C phrases/sections each with rhythm and bass loops playing live melody (kinda) over the top, Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World inspired by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

Kimberly, that is really cool. I play Somewhere Over the Rainbow as well as one of my tunes on the Trumpet and also as a bass solo. I just love what you have done with this timeless classic melody. I really like your Reggae groove and delivery . SUPER !

Thank you! I'm playing through a SWR California Blonde in the living room with wood floors for this. I was actually surprised with the tone when all was said and done.

Thank you very much! A lot of fun to play for sure. Locally anyways, the original version by Israel is under going a revival with some airplay so I'm looking forward to trying it out in a few clubs and see what kind of response it gets. Maybe next Alembic gathering we could work a duo thing out! Glad you liked it!

Thank you very much! I appreciate your compliments! I had my Epic's electronics upgraded with a three way Q filter and quick tone change circuits for the bass and treble. I think she sounds great too! :D PS. Practicing chords is a good thing! ;)

Thanks! The mystery object on the head stock is a flying pig with a magnetic nose! :D Normally I 'thread' the legs under the strings, but as you can see the magnet by itself is strong enough to hold her in place.

Hey Kimberly,
I thoroughly enjoyed that. You really captured that Alembic sound. I find it cool that regardless of the rig, Alembics always sound like Alembics and nothing else. That Bass really sings!
