I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good amp tech in the Bay Area? (you know, the southern suburb of Alembicland). I just got back my late 60's Fender Blackface Pro Reverb that I had lent to my singer about 5 or 6 years ago. It has been sitting in storage for awhile and has some issues - it gave her a shock the last time she tried to use it. The tech I had been using recently closed shop and moved away. Anyway, I'm looking for someone good to go through it thoroughly and also to restore my old 50's Champ amp. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill, tgo

Hello Bill,

Try calling Dave Ray at 415-457-1767
I've never used him myself, but my former colleague at Bananas At Large, Vadim, highly recommends him. He also recommends Stan Bailey at 415-721-0550.

Bill,

Don't know exactly wher you are, but one of the best in the area is Kent Fossgreen of Backstage Technical Service. He's in Cotati, about three miles from Alembic (where he used to work). His number is 707-795-8391.
