I'm becoming part of a happy few, as hopefully a SF-2 Superfilter will be delivered to my door somewhere around next weekend. After a long search I've found a nice secondhand deal, but now for the $1,000,000 question, is there a manual for this enigmatic device? Or is it just a learning process of trial and error I've got to go through? I've searched around in the archives, but apart from a whole lotta topics about settings and personal preferences, I've had no luck finding a weblink to an online version of the manual or something like that. If there IS a manual at all, I would really appreciate it (and I guess I wouldn't be the only one around here) if someone would make a scan... Thanks alot! Wilfred |

There is a manual, but it's still in paper only, so you'll need to email help (at) alembic (dot) com with your physical address to receive a copy. |

Thanks Mica, I just did. Would you mind if I made a scan (as PDF-file or something like that) and post it here? I'm sure more people are looking for a SF-2 manual, and as far as I'm concerned it would be posted in the Alembic Club exclusively, but I don't know if you and/or your parents would appreciate this, taking into account the copyright and stuff..? I think this would be a service well appreciated by all Alembic users. In case these papers should not be made available to non-Alembic owners I am sure you could set up a member area on the Alembic website where one would be able to register only if he/she could provide a serial number or something like this. On the other hand there are many companies out there who offer their PDF manuals for free download and that helped in many occasions when I wanted to find out if the product would suit my needs before I'd actually go out and buy it. In most cases, reading the manual upfront gets me even hotter for a product than I already was before. It surely has a strong advertisement effect. Not sure how useful a PDF manual would be for industrie spies, because I'd be surprised if they couldn't get their desired info through other channels anyways, if they were really after it. So personally I would assume that download manuals wouldn't add any harm to the sales strategies. In case I am wrong, a "private" info-area for registered Alembic owners would still be a cool step. |
