Hi Guys! I was wondering if anyone has 'messed around' with a Roger Linn 'Adrenalinn' series effect? I got one about a month ago. Initial results are mixed, but good, (c'est la vie). ;) Firstly though...the Adrenalinn III is a "Beat-Synched Multi FX + Amp Modeling and Drum Box". If nothing else just having the beats synched with effects 'automatically' is a pretty darn cool feature. 200 presets in various categories ie Filter Tremelo, Delay, Flanger/Chorus, Filter Sequences, Arpeggiator, Auto-Wah, Talk Box and others most of which are very usable 'out of the box'. No surprise the midi clock/synch works just fine from my RC-50 looper. Inspirational jamming around especially with the filter/arpeggiator presets. From the perspective of a soloist, there's a lot of good usable stuff with little to no tweaking. For a bassist in a band though I'm sure it's problematic, if for no other reason getting your drummer to lock in with a 'box'. ;D The big negatives I'm seeing so far are....it's not optimized for a bass and because of that the tuner isn't effective with open A,E and B strings. It'll pick up the harmonics okay, just not the strings. The biggest lack I see is because it's not optimized for bass, it works best at 12th fret and above. Don't get me wrong, it does function at lower frequencies (12th fret and below) but, the effects don't really have the same ummmm...'strength' (lack of better word at the moment) that they have at the higher frequencies. So, not really for a band format (maybe/depends), but (initially) very cool for solo bass. Anyone else have any experience/tips? I'd love to hear them. Best Regards, Kimberly |
