Just wondering if anyone knows how to look up info on my Rickenbacker amp and my 2 Vega banjos. I have tried to look up serial numbers online and haven't had any luck. The instruments are shown in "Showcase", "Epic Basses" under "Richbass939 family pics".
The Rick is model TR50 QX4694. I bought it used about 12 years ago and have no idea how old it is.
I don't know much about the banjos' histories. They both have five strings.
The long neck one is a Pete Seeger model. There is a label in it that has been partially torn. I'm not sure that the label is a serial number label. The number on the label is A-12(one number torn out here)381.
The short one is a Vega Senator, serial number 60210.
Can anyone tell me anything about these or how I can look it up?

Regarding the Vegas, if you haven't already found it, this looks like a good place to start:

You could try emailing the author for more info.

Here are some neat articles you've probably already seen:

Dave and Effclef,
Thanks for those sites!
It appears that the Vega Pete Seeger banjo is from early 1964. They stopped using the yellow labels and 5 digit serial number in 2-1964 with serial number 12400. Mine is 12381. It is kind of strange because the label in mine appears to have a number torn out (A-12__381). It is yellow like the site says and the number sequence seems to be about right. The "A" means that it has an adjustable truss rod, which mine does have.
The Vega Senator looks like it is from late 1923. It is #60210 and 1924 starts with about #61700.
It is weird to see a picture of my Rick amp on the Rick web site. I've never seen another one before. My amp doesn't have the same knobs as the close-up picture shows (except for one). My amp has knobs that are cylindrical. In the picture they are bigger and not really cylinders. I was packing up after a rehearsal several years ago and another guy put my amp in his car. When I got home I noticed that the distortion knob was gone (grrrr). I went back the next day and looked really well, but no such luck. He found a Rick knob for me but it doesn't match. It is like the ones on the Rick site. You can barely see it behind the Epic neck on my picture posting. Maybe one of these days I will try to get a knob that really matches.
Thanks for the help, you guys,
Rich
