That's what we've had. If anyone has talked to me on the phone since Thanksgiving, I probably hacked in your ear. In December I missed 9 days of work and through Jan and Feb I've really been operating at half mast. Not just me of course, mom and dad and just about everyone here has traded this thing.

Finally, finally, I am feeling MUCH healthier, coughing almost nil. I was pretty much the last holdout, and while we're not really 100% yet, I can see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Lots of people I've been emailing and talking to have had this nasty thing too. I hope everyone in the club can get over this, and all I can say is a hot toddie is your sore throat's best friend!

Glad you are feeling better Mica! I hope everyone at The Mothership gets well soon too! I know lots of people who have been sick lately, but thankfully, so far I have managed to miss it!

Mica , YES , me too since thanksgiving I had a recurring viral infection that has re-manifested itself in a variety of ways. It has really exasperated my existing lung condition and my asthma .Recently it seems that the the effects of this have demised considerably. I am so grateful ! YEAY !!!!

Mica,
I feel with you. I was also lying down with a heavy flu two weeks ago with high fever and it seems that whole Germany is lying down with flu....
Many greetings to all

Mica, glad you're on the mend. Hot toddy, huh? I've found that at the first sign of cold or flu, miso soup for the throat and hot sake for the sinuses does the trick. It may take multiple doses of each, though....

Wonderful that you are on the mend. A cough of that duration would fairly drive one mad! We all have our regimens. Mine is C, fish, krill and lecithin oils, fiber, bee pollen and low dose niacin. That niacin flush can be scary. As a result I have escaped sickness to any significant degree and have exceptional attendance at work despite being around teens all day. I also tout the benefits of Chi Gong breathing.

I have pretty much been sick since the end of January. Started out with a mild case of the flu that developed into full blown Pneumonia and caused me to miss an entire week of work. That was about 4 weeks ago.

I still have a cough that won't go away that is exasperated by physical activity.

Been to the doctor three times since Jan 1. Prior to that Ive had one doctor visit in the past 5 years.

My Dad has had this since the end of November. Glad that you're almost over it; he isn't yet.

Glad to hear everyone is doing better.

In addition to all of the other natural regimens and remedies, I recommend pomegranate juice...nature's secret weapon.

Also, flushing the sinuses daily with warm saline solution.

For the first time in my life, I have been free from flu, colds and sinus infections for over a year.

Thanks for the well wishes. It was brutal, I've never had a cold anything like this before. A week later here, and just the slightest tinge of a cough left.

Rusty, I hope you continue to be spared. Wolf, we probably have the same thing, it's crazy how many people around here are sick.

Oliver, I'm sorry that you had the flu. At least mine was "just" a cold. If it had been the flu this long I think I would have died.

I think I might like Sam's remedies better than yours, Danny. But I know where you work, so that's a pretty good track record.

Greg, John, I hope you guys feel better really soon! Same for your daddy, Spare.

I'm all over that pomegranate juice, David. Love it! In the end, I think the massive amounts of various fruit juices I had really helped me finally climb out of this. The sinus flush scares the heck outta me. Intellectually I know it's a good idea, but I just can't do it!

Those kindergarteners are disease vectors I tell yas! Get well, everyone!

Thanks Mica, it's great that you are feeling better as well. The juice thing is good and I also recommend zinc supplements to help fight the prolonged effects.

Thanks Mica, so far, so good! +1 on Wolf's suggestion to use zinc suppliments, I take Zicam when I feel like I'm getting sick & it will usually either prevent the illness from taking hold, or at least reduce the time that I am sick. It tastes like you're sucking on a galvanized bolt, but it works!

"Those kindergarteners are disease vectors I tell yas!"
I used to get sick every September and stay sick til April. Then I gave up the 5 packs a day, and for 27 years was sick 1-3 days every couple years. Then I became a substitute teacher. Sick Sept-June; festering little germ incubators, every one of them! Took about miserable 3 years to build up immunities.
Glad all are better. My dad has a cough that has lingered sice Nov; post-surgery last week they decided it was pneumonia. Take care of yourselves!

Peter (Who, for simple colds, recommends pure grapefruit juice heated to just before boiling, and peanut butter-and-raw-onion sandwiches. Really.)
