I wonder how that second one sounds???? It looks like a 3.4" scale.

As to how it sounds, it may depend on what you are burning.

That last one says 'exact replica'. Of what I wonder??
One interesting point though. I put one of those Schaller bridges on my precision years ago and it makes a heck of an improvement over the original.

I'm going to Amsterdam next week (one advantage of being in Europe Graeme!) so I'll try and listen out for one of those 3.4" thingies. My bet is they probably hiss!!

Grateful,

If you'll pardon my intrusion - just remember that getting high can be a pleasurable experience, like a moderate intake of alcohol, except that the cannabis you buy here over the counter is a lot stronger than the stuff you can illegally procure elsewhere. Anyway, do not light up if you're planning to do anything for which you wouldn't want to be under the influence of alcohol either. In both cases, the stimulant may enhance the experience, but it also numbs the senses.

And it smells awful.

Ago,

Dare I ask what sensory experiences you are hoping to explore whilst in the Venice of the North?

Adriaan,

You have dared to ask, the question is, dare I answer? I just love the "gezellig" experience. Sorry my dutch is so poor but you guys speak English so well it kills the incentive!

Grateful, (Another Guitar One)

Sometimes I get the feeling "gezellig" is a kind of extra-sensory perception that is part of the Dutch genome - it's really far off the trodden paths for most foreigners, but it sounds like you've come close.

Thanks Adriaan, I take that as a real compliment from a native Netherlander. It's something to do with your "live and let live" attitude I think.

Greetings,
I'm new to the Alembic scene although admired Alembic guitars for many years, now looking to buy one. How rare/desireable is this guitar on ebay?

Hi Denny, welcome to the group. There is already another thread started on this guitar.
http://alembic.com/club/messages/395/16603.html?1109028831
If you check out that thread you'll see that Val has listed the build info that the shop has on this guitar. Series guitars don't come up on Ebay very often. However, another '75 was sold on Ebay just last week.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2384&item=3781181792&rd=1
So that sale can give you a rough idea about what to expect the selling price to be. One thing to keep in mind about older Series instruments; when the were made, they were extremely quiet, however technology has filled the air around us with all kinds of signals that were not in existence in the seventies. Therefore many of these older Series instruments can have some noise, depending on where you happen to be playing. You can send a Series instrument back to Alembic and have them upgrade the electronics to where it's dead quiet again; but it's not inexpensive.
