Hey Now! I was wondering if anyone has any tales of jams with multiple Alembics? Just to start the idea... I was in a basement jam in Sonoma County out on the Russian River with another Alembic employee and another friend. The instruments were three Alembics. One was, as I recall: Alembic #004 a beautiful bass with the amber pickups (owned by a friend of Micky Hart); an employee Series guitar with a carbon fiber neck (made by & owned by an Alembic electronic tech friend), and my own employee guitar (made by myself). After we had gone through just about every Dead song, & some Dylan, that we could think of, we were talking about what to try next. I said "I know how to count out "The Eleven"". My friend said "It's in G". We started jamming, and laughed at even possibly of remembering the lyrics. One of the better days of playing music. Alembics are a rare breed, and multiple Alembics being played together seems quite unusual. It was really a lot of fun having a very early Alembic bass & two guitars in the same ensemble. Any other tales of musical alchemy? |

I've never even actually seen in person an Alembic guitar. I think it would be great to jam with a guitar player who owns an Alembic just to hear it. I think "The Eleven" would be a fun song to play. But I would want to have a drummer! |
